If you’ve ever fought with yourself over something, you may be familiar with the experience of inner conflict, of the sensation of containing forces which feel oppositional in nature. Yet even in trying to battle against or deny certain parts of oneself, there is an essential, integrated oneness formed of all those parts which is the embodiment of perfect harmony. This oneness underlies our complex self-concept and is the intersection all of the seemingly disparate elements. In union with all that we are, rather than seeking to restrict our identity to that which is tolerable or acceptable, we expand to our fullest state of being, and rejoice in its ineffable majesty.

“Twin Reflections on Infinity” is an ode to the valid and very real experience of inner conflict, while also presenting the inutterable beauty contained within the wholeness of our being. The two fishes and multitude of petals symbolize the multiplicity of being, while the lotus in the center symbolizes the one consciousness that looks out from within each of our bodies. As compassionate witness, we can look upon ourselves with peace and love, accepting rather than judging.
